The Burlesque Showboat departs at 7:30 sharp and won’t be able to wait ☹ for you so please arrive early, as traffic can sometimes be difficult in Docklands. We're well serviced by public transport which is far more reliable!
If you miss the cruise because you are late we are unable to offer any refund.
Where does the cruise go?
We usually head from Melbourne’s stunning docklands, through our fascinating industrial waterways past Port Melbourne, St Kilda and Williamstown. You will see boats, ships, dingys, piers, Melbourne’s stunning sunset and skyline by night depending on weather and time of year.

The boat has two levels which are accessed via a straight flight of stairs. We do not have a lift. Toilets are on the lower level (accessed via the stairs) and there is no disabled cubicle.
Are there any weather restrictions?
The Lady Cutler in an ex-Sydney ferry so is completely safe and enclosed for cruising in all weather conditions, literally rain, hail or shine.
Am I likely to get seasick?
The Lady Cutler is very safe and stable! You can feel it moving but is very unlikely to get rocky, definitely not to a point of getting seasick. We have been operating for nearly 10 years and have never had any safety issues and neither cancelled a cruise due to weather conditions.
What is included in the complimentary canapes?
Substantial finger food will be served throughout the evening as per canapé menu. Please understand that while we make every effort to get to every corner of the boat, while people freely move around it may not always be possible to ensure everyone receives the same amount of food. The Burlesque Show
What is a burlesque show?
Burlesque is “The Art of Tease”. Expect strip tease, partial nudity, comedy, cabaret, audience interaction, and adult themes. The show is satirical not explicit and usually women performing. There will be some bad language, but it is all in the name of humor. If you are easily offended by language or lots of skin, we recommend you go to a cabaret show or kids circus instead.
What time does the show start?
You will be given a stamp which will identify you as “Show 1” or “Show 2”. The shows all occur on the top level of the boat, show 1 starts at 8pm and show 2 starts at 9pm. Both shows are the same, so it won’t make any difference which show you attend. The main bar is located on the lower level along with the DJ, dance floor, toilets and smoking decks.
Do you have allocated seating?
All show seating is on a first-in-best-dressed basis. There is no reserved seating and on very busy evenings there may be some standing room.
Who is performing?
They are all fabulous! We work with some of Melbourne's top burlesque names, and regularly invite special guest performers, including interstate and international favourites as well. Each show is a little different - you'll never get the exact same show twice!
Fan favourites and previous guests include (but not limited to):
Kelly Ann Doll, Strawberry Siren, Imogen Kelly (world Queen of Burlesque 2012), Russell Bruner (USA), Clara Cupcakes, Lyra LaBelle, Zelia Rose, Poppy Cherry, Whisky Falls, Maple Rose, Evana de Lune, Ruby Slippers, Egson Ham, Iva Grande, Juniper Fox, Domino de Jour, Bella De Jac and so many more...

Can I take photos during the show?
No photography or filming of any kind is permitted during the shows. The performers will be available for photos at the stage area after the second show, around 10pm.
How should the audience behave during a burlesque show?
Burlesque is a wonderfully interactive art form where performers feed off the energy from their audiences. Unlike a theatre show, we encourage audience members to make noise and show their appreciation for the acts. The more a performer enjoys themselves on stage, the more fun the experience for everyone!
That said, we do have some guidelines for behaviour to ensure a healthy level of respect for your performers and fellow patrons. It's pretty simple, really ;)
DO: Cheer loudly, applaud, laugh, whistle, interact with the performers (when invited to do so)
DON'T: Use foul or derogatory language, talk during the show, take photos or film during the show, walk on the stage area or touch the performers (unless invited to do so)
Some simple rules to ensure the best night for everyone! x
What is the dress code?
Burlesque is about being FABULOUS darling and we encourage guests to embrace the theme by dressing up for the evening! This might be just a light flair to your attire or you can go all out in full costume!
Or if costuming isn’t your thing then just dress as if you were going on a fabulous glamorous burlesque cruise! Note that we are on a boat, so skyscraper heels may be best left at home unless you’re comfortable in them.
If you are interested in hiring or buying a costume for the evening we can recommend:
Rose Chongs- Fitzroy
Costume Warehouse- Hardware Lane Melbourne
Lombards Party Supplies
Ebay can also be a treasure trove of ideas.
Do I have to dress in costume?
While costuming is encouraged, its certainly not essential if that’s not your thing - although even just a light flair to your outfit (eg some sequins or pearls) can enhance your evening - trust us, as burlesque performers we love anything that sparkles!
Can I book a private area?
The boat is a shared space and we encourage guests to mingle and enjoy the dance floor, show area and decks with other patrons. If you have a special occasion and would like to arrange a cake presentation or speeches, please contact the boat’s event managers.
Can I book a private cruise?
Yes, you can! Private cruises can be arranged for groups of 60+. Please contact the Lady Cutler directly to discuss via email or on 0439 317 070 .
