Half vaudevillian, half flapper, half burlesque and half circus - Clara Cupcakes is a whole lotta goodness in one little package! She's one of our most regular and loved performers on the Burlesque Showboat, so its only fair we tell you a bit more about her!
Clara began performing burlesque back in 2007 in her hometown of Perth with Sugar Blue Burlesque, and has developed into one of Australia's sweetest and most prominent burlesque artists. She has accolades under her belt that include Miss Burlesque WA and 2nd runner up of Miss Burlesque Australia in 2010. Clara also received a nomination for The Golden Gibbo award for her debut solo show 'The Merchant of Whimsy' at the 2015 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and has won both national and international titles and starred in various burlesque festivals around the world, including the prestigious New York Burlesque Festival.
Drawing inspiration from vaudeville acts of the 1920s and combining jazz, circus, comedy and old world sensibility. Known for her quirky stage presence, hot shoe shufflin' and red hot hoochie coochin', Clara always leaves audiences shouting for more!
